MA Update – 2nd Workshop

Last weekend I attended the 2nd residential workshop at Ruskin College so I came home brimming with ideas for blog posts and a head crammed full of trade union theory.  These weekends are intense and tiring and so is the drinking in the evening.  Well I say evening; we tend to finish at 9pm so it’s a dash to the pub for a little bit of unwinding before we all prepare for the next day.

This time we had a full programme covering issues such as neoliberalism, migration, union busting, revolution, South Africa since the end of Apartheid plus a talk by a previous student on their dissertation.

So, now onwards with all the work.  I have assignments to start / finish and a whole load of books to read through.  It’s hard work but I’m loving it!
